Practical Magic 2 Trailer Reveals A Dangerous Mission To Break The Owens Family Curse

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock return in Practical Magic 2 as the Owens family faces a dangerous curse and a mission to save Kylie.

The first trailer for Practical Magic 2 has been released, bringing Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock back to their roles as Gillian and Sally Owens. The film continues the story of the Owens sisters, who once again find themselves dealing with magic, family challenges and a curse that has affected their family for generations.

The trailer shows Gillian and Sally beginning a new journey to break the Owens family curse. According to the story, any man who falls in love with an Owens woman is doomed to die. This curse has caused pain and loss for many members of the family over the years and remains a major concern for the sisters.

As they search for answers, the sisters visit a scholar played by Lee Pace. Their aunt Jet suggests they seek his help, but when they arrive, they discover that he has been placed under a mysterious spell. The trailer hints that he is suffering from a curse of his own, with an object resembling a voodoo doll appearing to be connected to the situation.

Gillian immediately tries to remove the spell and asks Sally to assist her. During the scene, Sally says, “Easier said than done, Gillian.” Gillian responds with, “Well there’s always…” prompting Sally to react with surprise and say, “Oh my God! What is wrong with you?”

The trailer later shows the curse being lifted from Pace’s character as dark smoke bursts from his chest. After recovering, he appears to help Sally better understand and strengthen her magical abilities.

A major part of the story focuses on Sally’s daughter Kylie, played by Joey King. Determined to end the family curse, Kylie takes matters into her own hands. However, her actions seem to place her in serious danger. Sally expresses her fears in the trailer, saying, “I’ve seen what my power can do. The idea that they [my daughters] may have the same power terrifies me.”

Franny, played by Stockard Channing, also warns of the consequences, saying, “This will lead her into the dark path. If you want to find her, you have to work together.”

The trailer introduces Antonia, played by Maisie Williams, who joins the search for Kylie. One dramatic scene shows Kylie trapped inside a flaming pentagram while a mysterious cloaked figure appears to be taking away her powers.

Practical Magic 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 11.
