Baywatch S1 trailer teases risky rescues and complicated relationships on Venice Beach

The Baywatch reboot trailer features Stephen Amell, dangerous beach rescues, familiar music and complicated relationships ahead of its January premiere on Fox.

Fox has released a full length trailer for its upcoming Baywatch reboot, giving viewers a closer look at the lifeguards, dangerous rescue missions and personal conflicts at the centre of the new series. The show brings back the familiar elements of the original, including beach emergencies, team relationships and action packed situations. Stephen Amell leads the cast as Hobie Buchannon, a character linked to the legacy of the original series.

The trailer also brings back the original show’s theme song, “I’m Always Here.” The music plays alongside scenes of lifeguards responding to several major emergencies. These include a small plane crash, a wildfire in the hills near the beach and an exploding lifeguard tower. The footage also shows that the team will have to deal with personal tensions and complicated relationships while carrying out their duties.

Stephen Amell leads the new Baywatch cast

Amell plays Hobie Buchannon, who leads the lifeguard team in the reboot. The cast also includes Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck and Brooks Nader.

Livvy Dunne and David Chokachi will appear in recurring roles. Chokachi’s casting is a direct link to the original Baywatch, where he was a regular cast member. His return connects the new series with the show that made the lifeguards a familiar part of television pop culture.

The trailer suggests that the reboot will keep the main ingredients of the original series. Along with beach rescues and dramatic emergencies, the show will follow the characters’ relationships and challenges away from their work. The new cast and updated situations are intended to introduce Baywatch to a new generation while keeping its recognisable setting and style.

Where is the Baywatch reboot being filmed?

The series is filming at Venice Beach and other locations across Los Angeles. The coastline remains an important part of the show, providing the setting for both the lifeguards’ rescue work and their personal lives.

Fox Entertainment Studios and Fremantle are producing the reboot. Matt Nix, known for Burn Notice, serves as an executive producer. McG has also directed the series premiere and serves as an executive producer. Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz are also executive producers.

When will Baywatch premiere?

The new Baywatch series is scheduled to premiere on Fox in January. The full length trailer offers the clearest look yet at the reboot, bringing back the familiar theme song while introducing a new team, fresh conflicts and large scale beach emergencies.
