Prem Keetanu takes viewers back to that familiar stage of life when college, friends, first love and heartbreak seem like the biggest things in the world. The story follows Vishal, played by Veer Pahariya, a carefree college student who enjoys his youth without thinking too much about the future. His life changes when he meets Suhani, played by Aafiya Sayed, and what begins as attraction slowly turns into an emotional relationship.
The film gets its comic energy from the arrival of Ranjeet, played by Aparshakti Khurana. Confident and polished, Ranjeet also develops an interest in Suhani, creating a love triangle filled with jealousy, rivalry and friendship. The lighter college moments work well because the humour often comes from situations, teasing and the silly decisions young people make rather than forced jokes.
Veer Pahariya fits naturally into the role of Vishal, especially during the fun college portions. His performance becomes more engaging when the character faces rejection and heartbreak. Aafiya Sayed makes a promising impression as Suhani, while her chemistry with Veer gives their relationship a believable quality. Aparshakti brings his usual comic confidence to Ranjeet and adds energy to the rivalry.
The film gradually moves from youthful fun to emotional confusion, giving the story more depth than a straightforward love triangle. The music also supports this transition, with Kaho Toh and Tu Mera Raiyyo bringing romance, while Ishq Ka Ghulaam adds an emotional touch.
Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, Prem Keetanu works best as a nostalgic coming of age story about first love, friendship, mistakes and learning to grow up.
