Actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan revisited one of the most frightening moments of their lives during their appearance on Koffee With Karan. The couple opened up about the night Saif was stabbed at their Bandra home in January 2025. While their conversation also included lighter moments, the incident brought back painful memories for both of them. Kareena spoke about the fear she experienced that night and how the attack continued to affect her even after Saif returned home from the hospital.
Kareena Kapoor recalls the trauma of the attack
During the conversation, Kareena revealed that she could not sleep properly for six months after the incident. Recalling the panic and confusion, she said, “I was screaming on the road, ‘Ruko, ruko’. It was like a movie scene.”
Saif also spoke about the frightening experience, describing it as “the worst night in the history of nights.” The actor recalled the seriousness of the situation and how difficult it was to deal with the emergency. The presence of their children made the situation even more stressful for the family.
The couple also spoke about the support they received from their loved ones while trying to deal with the incident and its emotional impact.
What happened during the Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident?
The attack took place on January 16, 2025, when an intruder entered Saif and Kareena’s apartment in Bandra and confronted their domestic help. Saif stepped in, leading to a violent struggle. The actor suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to the hospital in an autorickshaw.
He underwent a six hour surgery and was discharged on January 21, 2025. Mumbai Police arrested the accused, Mohammed Shariful Islam, three days after the attack. The case later moved to trial after the court rejected the accused’s second attempt to plead guilty. The trial began last month.
Kareena and Saif return to Koffee With Karan
Kareena and Saif are appearing together on Koffee With Karan after several years. Karan Johar recently announced that the current season would be the show’s final season. Salman Khan appeared as the first guest, while the couple will feature in Episode 4.
